Pako's Story
Our Journey So Far!

In Loving Memory of Petra
Petra Scheuermann created Pako to make learning about animals fun and kind for kids across Namibia. She loved our country’s wildlife and inspired many children to care for the animals around them.
Her warmth and vision live on in every edition of Pako, and she will always be part of Pako's story.
Petra’s Legacy Lives On
Today, Pako has been entrusted to Have a Heart Namibia - a charity working to help spay and neuter pets for low or no income households nationwide. Together, we continue Petra’s mission of teaching, inspiring and caring, one pawprint at a time.
Please note that Have a Heart Namibia works independently and is not connected to Petra’s estate.

About Pako Kids Magazine
Pako Kids Magazine is a Namibian nature and animal education magazine created especially for school children and has been running since 2013. Through colourful design, engaging stories, and fun activities, Pako helps children learn about wildlife, pets, and the natural world in a way that is kind, accessible, and inspiring.
Our goal is to spark curiosity and encourage respect for animals and the environment - nurturing young minds to grow into compassionate and responsible caretakers of our planet.
Pako Team
Pako is created by a small team with big heart.
Hélene van Rooijen and Andrea Leech are the graphic designers behind the magazine, bringing Pako to life through its stories, illustrations, layouts, and playful games and quizzes.
Geesche Neuburg from Have a Heart Namibia has been part of Pako from its earliest days. As the heart of Have a Heart, she helps guide the project with care and purpose. Andrea Leech also represents Have a Heart, ensuring the charity’s values are woven into every issue.

Together, they combine creativity and compassion to create a magazine that is fun, engaging and meaningful for young readers across Namibia.
